Dyess AFB issues statement on airman's death

A release from the base says an airman stationed at Dyess died in a vehicle crash over the weekend.

DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas — Dyess Air Force Base public affairs released a brief statement Monday afternoon regarding the death of an airman stationed at the base.

According to the statement, the airman died in an off-duty vehicle crash outside of the area Sunday, Nov. 26. 

“Any time we lose a member of our Air Force family, it’s a terrible tragedy,” Col. Seth Spanier, 7th Bomb Wing commander, said in the release. “Our top priority is to support the grieving family, friends, and loved ones struggling with this loss.”

The name of the airman and other details will be released after next-of-kin notification is made, the release states.
