ABILENE, Texas — A fire at an Abilene home was caused by an electrical arc inside a wall, the Abilene Fire Department said Wednesday.

At around 10 a.m. Feb. 28, AFD crews responded to a residential structure fire in the 5000 block of Llano Street. At the scene, they saw smoke showing through the upstairs windows.

Crews acted quickly and were able to stop the fire in the room of origin and keep it from spreading to the rest of the home, which was occupied at the time of the fire. All occupants were able to escape.

One occupant had minor burns, but refused treatment at the scene.

The fire was determined accidental and damages are estimated at $50,000.
