ABILENE, Texas — Giraffes can't dance, or can they?

Find out the answer to this question at 2 p.m. Jan. 6, 2024 during the performance of a picture book-inspired musical centered in Africa.

Giraffes Can't Dance tells the story of Gerald who learns, in time, that "sometimes when you're different, you just need a different song."

His story is being told with the help of two Abilene natives: Paydin Layne LoPachin and Rylee Davidson.

LoPachin grew up with a passion for performance, traveling to big cities at just 9-years old to work modeling jobs for companies including Calvin Klein, Abrocrombie, Italian Vogue and more.

At just 16-years old, she moved to Los Angeles, California, working in productions such as Heroes, Hallmark movies, The OC as well as commercials for Lay's Potato Chips, Applebee's and more.

Eventually, LoPachin worked alongside her father to build Wishing Star Productions, where she spent four years touring the United States with the cast of Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer.

Currently, she works as a co-owner, producer and on-tour director for the production company, traveling the country with shows like Giraffe's Can't Dance.

Tickets for the Abilene show can be purchased online at ticketonlineperformance.

Come see Gerald for yourself at the Abilene Convention Center, 1100 N. 6 St.
