ABILENE, Texas — The City of Abilene is partnering with the Abilene Public Library South Branch to host two Holiday Travel Preparedness sessions for adults who want information on handling potential travel emergencies.
Sessions will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 and from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, Nov. 22, at the South Branch library, 4310 Buffalo Gap Road (inside the Mall of Abilene).
The program, led by City of Abilene Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator, Angela Baker, and Emergency Management Coordinator, Vincent Cantu, will provide essential guidance on how to stay safe and connected when unexpected situations arise.
Crucial skills and tips for holiday travel preparedness will include:
- How to make sure you and your loved ones can stay in communication during an emergency.
- How to ensure you have what you need in an emergency car kit.
- How to respond and remain calm when disaster strikes.
The program will provide knowledge and tools to handle travel disruptions confidently.
