ABILENE, Texas — Phase 1 of the Cypress Street Project is open to vehicle traffic, as of Monday, the City of Abilene says.
A new two-way traffic pattern will be in effect from North 6th to North 3rd streets, with marked parallel parking spaces available. Safety barriers will be set up where needed and landscaping will be installed when the project is complete.
The 300 block between North 2nd and North 3rd streets has barriers indicating funneling for the approach from one to a two-way traffic pattern.
Phase 2 of the project is scheduled to begin in January 2025.
