Power outages planned for Nov. 17, Nov. 24 in downtown Abilene

An AEP Texas contract crew will be performing maintenance and making upgrades in several stages, the City of Abilene said.

ABILENE, Texas — AEP Texas contract crews will be performing maintenance and upgrading electrical facilities for the next two Sundays in downtown Abilene.

Crews will be working down the alley between Cypress and Pine street from North 2nd through North 5th streets. They will do the work in several stages starting at North 2nd and work their way north.

On Sunday, Nov. 17, they will be working from North 2nd to North 4th on the east side of Cypress Street and west side of Pine in two stages:

  • Approximately 6:30-9:30 a.m.: The 200 block of Cypress (east side only) and 200 block of Pine (west side only). The signal light will be out at North 2nd and Pine streets at this time.
  • Approximately 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.: The 300 block of Cypress (east side only) and 200 block of Pine (west side only). Signal lights will be out at North 3rd and Pine, as well as North 4th and Pine streets.

On Sunday, Nov. 24, crews will be working on the 400 block (east side) of Cypress and the 400 block (west side) of Pine.
