ABILENE, Texas — Santa Claus will make an appearance Dec. 9 at the Abilene Public Library South Branch to spread holiday cheer with a special story time.
The holiday event kicks off at 10:30 a.m. with stories, hot cocoa and a chance to meet Santa at the library, located in the Mall of Abilene, 4310 Buffalo Gap Road.
Abilene's Main Branch Library, 202 Cedar St., is inviting children of all ages to stop by and write letters to Santa from Dec. 1-23. Letters will be deposited in the library's mailbox to Santa to be delivered straight to the North Pole. Each child who writes a letter to Santa will receive a free holiday button as a keepsake.
In the Santa Mail Center area of the main library, will also offer coloring for children and the chance to make an elf ornament for themselves, or to decorate their own trees at home. Materials to write the letters, as well as other little activities, will be available on the second floor, as well.
On Tuesday, Dec. 3 during the City Sidewalks celebration, the area will be open for children to enjoy the activities. For more information, call 325-677-2474.
