CHRISTOVAL, Texas — A $19.5 million bond proposal for the Christoval Independent School District is on the ballot for the May 4 general election to allow voters to decide whether the district can build a new middle school and make renovations, repairs or upgrades to other campuses.
At the polls, Christoval-area residents will vote "for" or "against" the bond that will aid in designing, constructing renovating, improving, upgrading, updating, acquiring and equipping the facilities, and purchasing new school buses. Priority will be given to building a new campus for middle schoolers.
If passed, taxpayers will see an unspecified amount added to property taxes.
Town hall meetings will be held April 10, 11 and 18 in Knickerbocker, Dove Creek and Christoval to talk about the bond.
This is a developing story. More information will be posted as we receive voting totals May 4.
