BROWNWOOD, Texas — A Brownwood man has been charged in connection to the death of a Bangs woman, the Brownwood Police Department said.
The BPD said at around 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, officers were dispatched to a home in the 200 block of Bluffview Drive regarding a report of a dead person. They arrived on scene and began an investigation, then contacted the Criminal Investigations Division for help.
A criminal investigation ultimately led to the arrest of Troy Lee Daniel Jr., 35, of Brownwood. Daniel was booked into the Brown County Jail on a charge of murder and bond was set at $550,000.
The victim was identified as Nancy Jasmine Sanchez, 31, of Bangs. BPD said an autopsy has been ordered by Justice of the Peace Harold Hogan.
"This investigation impacts many citizens and families, and our sympathy is extended to all of those involved," Brownwood Police said in a release.
Additionally, the release said, this is a very complex, active investigation involving the Brownwood Police Department, Texas Rangers and 35th District Attorney’s Office personnel.
