COLEMAN COUNTY, Texas — A 36-year-old Abilene man was killed Nov. 8 when the car he was driving slid off the road and overturned.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said the crash happened at around 7:52 p.m. Nov. 8 on County Road 128 in Coleman County.
Mark Craig Niblett Jr. of Abilene was driving a passenger car east on CR 128. DPS says he was traveling at an unsafe speed for the road conditions (sand, mud and dirt) while navigating a curve. He lost control of the car, slid off the road and the car overturned onto its roof. The crash report says he was not wearing a seatbelt.
Niblett was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Justice of the Peace Vicki Kemp.
