SAN ANGELO, Texas — The Concho Valley Regional Food Bank will be hosting a community-wide mega food distribution from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 26, in the parking lot of Angelo State University’s Foster Field.
According to a CVRFB press release, this new venue offers a more centrally located distribution and will make it easier for any ASU student needing food to attend the event.
These community-wide mega food distributions were not taking place prior to the onset of COVID-19. Once the negative impact COVID was having on people’s livelihoods became apparent, the CVRFB instituted the quarterly food giveaways. In addition, food distributions are held throughout the year in the other counties of the food bank’s service area, only on a smaller scale.
There will be provisions to serve between 800 to 1,000 households at the distribution. A maximum of two households per vehicle will be allowed and on-site registration is required to receive the food.
The food is being provided by the San Antonio Food Bank and the CVRFB.
