SAN ANGELO, Texas — Charley and Kayla Stevens witnessed the destruction left by Helene and immediately felt they needed to help. The family plans to load a truck, donated by Charley’s employer, with supplies donated by the San Angelo community. These supplies will benefit Helene victims in Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. Stevens’ wife says the support shown by the community is overwhelming.
Requested items include debris-clearing tools like rakes and shovels, hygiene, camping and cleaning supplies, jackets and hoodies. The Stevens’ donation truck will be accepting donations in the Walmart parking lot on Sherwood Way until Saturday afternoon, Oct. 12.
