ABILENE, Texas — The Abilene Fire Department responded to a structure fire Monday night on South 25th Street and Ross Avenue.
According to an AFD release, at approximately 11:26 p.m. Monday, crews responded to call of a structure fire at South 25th and Ross.
The first crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from a construction site of a large wood-framed apartment complex. That crew advanced a hose line and conducted a quick attack.
A second alarm was called early on into the response, allowing for two aerial ladders to be used to apply master streams onto the burning structure.
The fire damage was limited to the east portion of the unfinished structure and two pieces of heavy equipment.
In all 32 fire personnel, four fire engines, two ladder trucks and seven staff and support vehicles were dispatched to the fire. No death or injuries were reported.
The cause remains under investigation at this time and estimated value of damage is $200,000.
