SAN ANGELO, Texas — More than 100 pieces of realistic and representational artwork depicting the American Great Plains region will be on display at Fort Concho National Historic Landmark, 630 S. Oakes St., from June 23-Aug. 7 as part of the 37th annual Juried Exhibit & Sale.
A kickoff “Art of the Plains” celebration with an opening reception will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. June 23 in the fort's Quartermaster Building. The kick off is free and open to the public.
Representations of Great Plains landscape, wildlife, people and way of life in historical or modern times will be on display. Artworks in the show will be rendered by nationally-recognized, award-winning artists and juried for awards by juror Phil Bob Borman.
