Every Tuesday and Thursday, Angelo State University’s education students start their day with a regular instructional period with their professor in the hallway of TLCA Elementary School. After that, the future teachers head down to TLCA’s first grade classes to pick up their students and begin. Through the program, each young teacher is grouped with one to three first graders, going over multiple subjects. Both the college professor and a future educator say that the experience presents a unique opportunity, learning more than they would in a lecture room.
