Thirty-one students participate in Howard Payne spring festival

The university's pre-college music program hosted the festival, held in the Davidson Music Complex on campus.

BROWNWOOD, Texas — The Howard Payne University Pre-College Music program recently hosted 31 students in the spring festival, held in the Davidson Music Complex on the HPU campus.

Students who earned a “superior” rating in piano solo at the festival were Alecs Butka, Brooklyn Butka, Maddox Butka, Mason Danek, Abigail Dean, Abigail Dorman, Zakry Dorman, Jackson Kraemer, Isaiah Marshall, Katya Nowowiejski, Noble Penland, Braylee Reeves, Logan Reeves, Abigail Rico, Scarlet Rico, Brent Rosborough, Gwenie Rosborough, Lucy Smith, Drake Stephenson, Wyatt Stephenson, Akira Tobias, Sofia Vazquez, Ximena Vazquez, Drew Walker and Wade Young.

Students earning the “superior” rating in vocal solo were Addison Marshall, Braylee Reeves, Katelyn Vera and Madelyn Vera.

Students Jackson Bedford and Hank Smith participated in the non-competitive category.
