ROBERT LEE, Texas — UPDATE: The City says all bees have been removed by Bee Solutions and the area is all clear.

ORIGINAL STORY: The City of Robert Lee posted a public notice to residents Monday afternoon to inform them about active bees in the area of Austin and 4th streets.

A 9-1-1 call about a bee attack Friday is what prompted an evaluation of the area, where more than 10,000 active bees were found.

'Rehoming' of the bees is estimated to begin at 6:30-7 p.m. (at sunset/dark) Monday when the bees return to their hive. Amanda Mendoza with the City says rehoming will be done by Bee Solutions

Residents within a two-block radius are asked to stay indoors/shelter-in-place. Anyone who owns livestock or animals should relocate them to a safe place by the time removal begins.

Anyone with questions or concerns can call 325-453-2831.
