BROWN COUNTY, Texas — Multiple arrests were made Nov. 15 after the Brown County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division served search warrants at four gambling businesses, Brown County Sheriff Vance Hill said.
The businesses near Lake Brownwood on State Highway 279 were visited after an undercover operation showed Texas law was being violated, Hill said. The search warrants were served on the Lucky Links Game Room, 777 Game Room, Friends Game Room and the Lucky Ducky Game Room.
The arrests were on charges of gambling promotion, keeping a gambling place and possession of gambling device, equipment or paraphernalia. Additional charges filed from the execution of the warrants were manufacture and deliver of a controlled substance >4g <200 grams (methamphetamine) and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
Patrons were issued warning citations and released. The investigations are ongoing and more arrests are expected, Vance said.
