BROWN COUNTY, Texas — A juvenile was taken by helicopter to Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth after law enforcement found them with a gunshot wound Nov. 27.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office says its deputies, along with Brownwood Police Department officers, responded to the 3300 block of Avenue C on a call of a juvenile with a gunshot wound.
The juvenile told authorities the gunshot wound to the upper left chest area was self-inflicted. Investigators spoke with all parties at the location and have further interviews to conduct, the BCSO said.
After being taken to Hendrick Medical Center, the juvenile was later taken by helicopter to Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth and is currently in ICU. BCSO said the juvenile’s injuries are not reported to be life-threatening.
The investigation is ongoing.
