Dance is being celebrated in San Angelo in a bigger way than ever before.
Ballet San Angelo is partnering with various community organizations to host a four-day long celebration of 'Light up the Night: Sharing Dance 2022.'
Various dance-themed activities are set for Oct. 14, 15, 21 and 22, most of which are free to the public.
At 7:30 p.m. Oct. 14, the Dallas Black Theater will be performing at the Elta Joyce Murphey Performance Hall and tickets are available online.
On Oct. 15, the group will be hosting a workshop event at 9:30 a.m. at 82 Gillis St. on a first come, first serve basis.
The following week at 5 p.m. Oct. 21 at 82 Gillis St., San Angelo public school fourth graders will be given the chance to create kinetic sculptures. Certain pieces will also be put on display at the San Angelo Center for Performing Arts.
The remaining two events are both scheduled for Oct. 22. The first event, 'Batteries Not Included,' is a free dance show at 7 p.m. in Murphey Performance Hall with inspiration from various games like Leapfrog and playing cards.
The second event starts at 5 p.m. at City Hall Plaza to inspire public health in the community. 'Light up the Night: Sharing Dance 2022' includes free light batons, t-shirts for children, food vendors and more as organized by the San Angelo Health Foundation and it is free to the public.
