NOLAN COUNTY, Texas — A Colorado City man died early Wednesday morning when his SUV struck a pickup truck head-on near Sweetwater.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says Israel Enrique G Beltran, 26, of Colorado City, was driving an SUV and traveling north on State Hwy 70, around six miles south of Sweetwater at around 6:41 a.m. Wednesday.
Lio Acosta Acero, 62, of Midland, was traveling south on SH 70 in a pickup truck.
DPS says Beltran steered left into the southbound lane, hitting Acero's truck head-on. Beltran was pronounced dead at the scene by Constable Stephen Smith.
Acero was taken to Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo for treatment of incapacitating serious injuries.
