BROWNWOOD, Texas — Music fans in the Big Country are about to have a new festival to attend in Brownwood and Midland will headline the inaugural event that also includes Casey Donahew, Micky and the Motorcars, Tyler Halverson and Hudson Westbrook.

The new Feels Like Home Festival, presented by KOHLER, is happening Saturday, Oct. 19 in Brownwood. Tickets to the event go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16 at FeelsLikeHomeFest.com.

The event takes place at the brand new Brownwood Event Center -an outdoor music venue and event center. Originally built as a Radford Grocery Company warehouse in the 1920s, the existing building has been converted into a multipurpose event center with spaces for conventions, special events and premier concerts, bringing in modern features while preserving the building’s original industrial character.

The reimagined Ice House building on Lee Street will host the festival main stage with fans using the new open-air Reunion Lawn, which can accommodate up to 10,000 attendees.

“The City of Brownwood is ecstatic to host this incredible lineup of talent as the inaugural Feels Like Home Fest kicks off this October, at our beautiful new state-of-the-art Brownwood Event Center. Headlined by a trio of fellow Texans thanks to the band Midland, we hope this all-ages outdoor fest will become a popular annual attraction that provides a long lasting positive impact in the local community both economically and culturally,” Brownwood Mayor Stephen E. Haynes said in a media release.

The festival is produced by Soundskilz in partnership with the City of Brownwood who hope to provide residents with performances from some of today’s most sought-after country music acts set to the backdrop of Brownwood’s brand-new top-of-the-line event center, while providing a positive and substantial economic impact to the local community.

General admission and VIP passes start at $59.

More details about this year’s event will be announced in the coming weeks, including a lineup of barbecue pitmasters from across the State of Texas who have been invited to set up at the inaugural outdoor fest, along with the full slate of family-friendly activities, local vendors and artisans and community partners.
