MILES, Texas — Miles Elementary School has no problem decking the halls, and the incentive was denim.
Curt McKneely, the school's principal, told his teachers they could wear jeans for the rest of the semester if they decorated the hallways for the holidays. Over two days, parents spent hours at a time making and hanging decorations which now cover the school's walls. McKneely said he hopes the memories will last long after the multicolored snowflakes are gone.
"I hope this will always be an impact in their life where they can look back and have fond memories of Christmas," he said.
McKneely and his staff say taking down foot after foot of paper is "a January problem."
