SCURRY COUNTY, Texas — More seismic activity was reported for the second time this week Wednesday in West Texas.
Seven earthquakes, ranging from 2.5 to 4.0 on the Richter scale, happened in the same area reported Monday by the US Geological Survey. A 3.0 at around midnight Wednesday about 10.8 miles northeast of Hermleigh and 57.7 miles west-northwest of Abilene. The most intense quake, a 4.0 on the scale, happened at 9:57 p.m. Wednesday night, north/northeast of Hermleigh.
