EASTLAND COUNTY, Texas — A Minnesota man was killed Thursday afternoon when his motorcycle was involved in a crash in Eastland County.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said Terry Lee Rose, 49, of Eastland, was driving a pickup truck traveling south on Farm-to-Market 2214 and County Road 237, about seven miles southeast of Eastland, at around 4:58 p.m. Thursday.

At the same time, Mark Allen Jewett, 61, of Waseca, Minnesota, was on a motorcycle, traveling north on FM 2214 and approaching CR 237.

DPS said Rose failed to yield the right-of-way turning left onto CR 237 and struck Jewett.

Jewett was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Jon Glenn.

Rose was not injured.
