ABILENE, Texas — A motorcyclist died early Thursday morning after striking a concrete median on North 6th Street in Abilene.
According to a release from the Abilene Police Department, at approximately 2 a.m. Thursday, the APD was notified of a major motor vehicle collision in the 2100 block of North 6th Street.
The initial investigation showed a motorcycle was traveling east on North 6th Street when it struck a poured concrete median.
The rider, later identified as Walter Marion Price III, 36, Abilene, was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Sparky Dean, the department said. His next of kin was notified.
Price was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. The investigation is being conducted by the department's traffic division.
