SAN ANGELO, Texas — Fire crews battled the North art Complex Fire from Thursday Aug. 22, after lightning strikes sparked several fires that merged into one. The large fire consumed about 4,313 acres before it was brought under containment. Mason County VFD Chief Brandon Neece said the temperatures were high on Thursday night and even higher on Friday.
Chief Neece also says that only one structure was lost in the blaze, a deer stand, and no residences or lives were lost.
