ABILENE, Texas — A 44-year-old man was killed Thursday afternoon after being hit by a train in Abilene.
According to a release from the Abilene Police Department, at approximately 1:05 p.m. Thursday, a man was hit by the train while walking on the railroad tracks near the 3100 block of North 1st Street.
Witnesses told police the man appeared to make no effort to move out of the path of the oncoming train.
Police have not released the identity of the victim, pending next of kin notification.
