EASTLAND COUNTY, Texas — A Stanton woman died early Wednesday after being hit by a pickup truck in Eastland County.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says the incident happened shortly after midnight Wednesday on Farm-to-Market Road 2214, west of Desdemona.
Catelynn Brooke Jordan, 31, of Stanton, was laying down in the center of the eastbound lane of FM 2214, approximately a quarter mile west of Farm-to-Market Road 8.
Daniel Russell Piper, 39, of Eastland, was driving a pickup truck east on FM 8. Jordan was not visible to Piper, who struck her.
Jordan was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Jon Glenn.
