SAISD Board of Trustees call for bond vote

San Angelo ISD is asking taxpayers to sign off on a new board measure.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — The district says the goal is to pay staff more and upgrade security measures. Proposition A is headed for the November 5th ballot. Prop A asks voters to approve a tax rate adopted by the Board of Trustees. According to the proposition, the current tax rate will not increase for homeowners in the district. The proposal will generate $2 million from taxpayers and over $4 million from the state. According to a district news release, the money will be used to, “recruit and retain high-quality staff” and “an armed officer at every campus.”  For a full look at the news release, click here.
