SAN ANGELO, Texas — UPDATE: Lake View High School will continue classes as usual after the San Angelo Police Department investigated the campus and determined there is no active threat at this time.

The San Angelo Police Department is investigating another social media threat at San Angelo Lake View High School.

Parents received a message Wednesday morning that said, "SAISD: SAPD is investigating a social media threat received on StayAlert. School will remain on regular schedule with increased safety measures."

On Wednesday, Oct. 5, in the morning, San Angelo Independent School District and Lake View High School were made aware of a threat made on social media. Immediately district leaders and campus administrators started an investigation with the SAPD.

The district said the investigation is ongoing, and SAISD will continue to work directly with SAPD.

"As we continue the investigation and out of an abundance of caution, LVHS is implementing additional safety measures," the release said. "We take all matters of this nature seriously and will follow procedures outlined in our Student Code of Conduct. The safety of our students is our first priority. We encourage everyone to report threats of any kind to a district or school official, local law enforcement, or report the concern on our district StayAlert link on the SAISD website."

SAISD, by law, is not at liberty to publicly disclose the names of students or disciplinary actions taken. We appreciate the collaborative effort between the school and law enforcement. SAISD encourages everyone to report threats of any kind to a district or school official, local law enforcement, or report the concern on our district StayAlert link on the SAISD website. Student reports will be kept confidential," the SAISD said.
