Salvation Army shelter to reopen Oct. 1

After five years of closed doors, the Salvation Army of San Angelo’s Emergency Shelter will officially open on Oct. 1.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — A Ribbon Cutting and Dedication Ceremony was held for the shelter today, featuring Salvation Army staff and city officials. The commanding officer of the San Angelo post says, while the shelter couldn’t be open for the hottest part of the year, preparations for the winter’s cooler temperatures are complete.

Along with newly renovated facilities, the major also says the shelter will have a case worker on standby to help individuals housed at the shelter back on their feet.
