SAN ANGELO, Texas — San Angelo has been named No. 1 among True West Magazine 's 2020 True Western Towns. The February-March 2020 issue featuring the city will be on newsstands Feb. 18.
“San Angelo, which located away from most big cities, is a great example of the living Old West,” True West Executive Editor Bob Boze Bell said.
The story of Palo Duro Canyon, the San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo, the historic buildings and murals are some of the City's features.
True West has presented the award annually for 15 years and its editors base the selection on how well the town has preserved its history.
