SAN ANGELO, Texas — UPDATE (June 29): The San Angelo Police Department has issued an update in the assault in a local pub parking lot that resulted in injuries to a San Angelo man, who later died.
The update said the initial call for service was for a stabbing victim at Shannon Medical Center. After investigation, it was determined the victim, Jason Garivay, received injuries from a felonious assault in the Penny Pub Tap House parking lot.
Garivay died from his injuries June 27. An autopsy was performed June 29.
His cause of death is pending until results from the autopsy are received.
ORIGINAL STORY: A San Angelo man died Sunday after being assaulted in the parking lot of a local pub the weekend of June 19.
According to a San Angelo Police Department press release, officers were dispatched to Shannon Medical Center at 12:41 a.m. Saturday, June 19, in reference to a stabbing victim.
Officers later determined the incident happened in The Penny Tap House parking lot, 2414 College Hills Blvd.
The victim, Jason Garivay, 41, died from his injuries Sunday, June 27.
The department said this is still an ongoing investigation with no other information is available for release at this time.
