TOM GREEN COUNTY, Texas — A 26-year-old San Angelo man was killed early Friday when the car he was driving collided with a tractor-trailer, five miles north of San Angelo on US 67.
According to a preliminary crash report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the tractor-trailer, driven by La Treveon Lequan Hawkins of Moreno, California, was traveling southbound on 67. A car, driven by Luis Hernandez Serrano, 26, of San Angelo, was traveling northbound.
For unknown reasons, the report said, Serrano was driving on the wrong side of the road. Hawkins tried to take evasive action, DPS said, but the truck collided with the front left side of Serrano's car.
Hawkins had non-incapacitating injuries in the crash. Serrano was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under DPS investigation.
