San Angelo man dies in single-vehicle rollover on FM 765

A San Angelo man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday evening on FM 765, 10 miles east of San Angelo.

TOM GREEN COUNTY, Texas — A 59-year-old San Angelo man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday evening on FM 765, 10 miles east of San Angelo.

According to a preliminary crash report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2005 Ford F150 pickup truck, towing a trailer, was traveling westbound on FM 765 towards San Angelo.

The vehicle drifted off the roadway to the south, struck a culvert, causing the truck and towed trailer to roll over.

The driver of the truck, Derell Dean Payne of San Angelo, was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Fred Buck.

The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office assisted DPS at the crash scene.
