SAN ANGELO, Texas — At 3 p.m. Thursday, San Angelo Public Safety Communications received a 911 call for a drive-by shooting near Howard Street and Dallas Street.
According to a SAPD press release, a witness was able to give the proper information to 911 dispatchers, which resulted in officers being able to quickly locate the suspect at his residence. It was confirmed that the victims vehicle was actually struck by the suspect.
George Torres , 54, was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a felony of the 2nd degree, and booked into the Tom Green County Detention Center.
Approximately 12 hours later police responded to a robbery call at the Allsups convenience store at 514 N. Main, where a man was allegedly brandishing a knife and threatening employees.
Officers located the suspect, Jaylon Knight, 21, in the parking lot next to Allsups, along with the stolen merchandise and the knife. Knight was arrested for aggravated robbery and multiple outstanding warrants.
