San Angelo Police seize drugs, cash during traffic stop

The SAPD said the suspected oxycodone seized has a street value of approximately $750,000. Two 19-year-old men were arrested on various charges.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — San Angelo Police seized drug and cash and made two arrests after a traffic stop in north San Angelo Dec. 4.

According to a press release from the San Angelo Police Department, Street Crimes Division detectives and K-9 Unit officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 2900 block of North Bryant Boulevard for a traffic violation.

An investigation was conducted and the vehicle's occupants were found in possession of approximately 12 lbs. of suspected oxycodone pills; 66 grams of THC products; 51 grams of marijuana; 2 grams of cocaine; and $952 in cash.

The occupants were identified as Ezequiel Azmatia-Jimenez, 19; and Matthew Juan, 19.

Azmatia-Jimenez arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance Penalty Group 1 > 400 grams oxycodone; possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 2 4-400 grams THC; and possession of marijuana <2 ounces.

Juan was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 1 > 400 grams oxycodone; possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 2 4-400 grams THC; possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 1 < 1 gram cocaine; and possession of marijuana <2 ounces.

Both subjects were booked into the Tom Green County Jail for their associated charges.

The SAPD said it should be noted the suspected oxycodone alone has a street value of approximately $750,000.
