Four Angelo State Rams baseball players receive D2CCA All-Regional accolades

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Four members of the Angelo State University Rams baseball team - Tripp Clark, Dax Dathe, Caleb Heuertz and Jacob Guerrero - earned D2CCA All-South Central region honors. Clark and Dathe earned first-team honors while Heuertz and Guerrero were featured on the second team.

This is the second time for all-region honors for the four, who were all named to the NCBWA All-South Central Region First Team last week.

Clark, a senior accounting major from Waco, leads the Lone Star Conference in batting average (.448), slugging percentage (.796), OPS (1.323) and RBI (83) while being ranked in the top 10 in numerous other offensive categories including hits, home runs and on-base percentage.

Guerrero, a junior accounting major from Colleyville, leads the LSC in stolen bases while hitting .364 with 20 doubles and 62 RBI. The Rams' left fielder went 6-for-15 from the plate last weekend at the South Central Regional in Grand Junction. 

Dathe, a senior interdisciplinary studies major from Round Rock, leads the conference in strikeouts (104) while sitting in fourth with a 4.38 ERA.

Heuertz, a senior MBA student from San Angelo, was an All-LSC First Team selection and holds a 2.41 ERA and has collected a team-high seven saves in 22 appearances.

The Rams travel to Lubbock this weekend to take on Lubbock Christian in the South Central Super Regional.
