Be Theatre announces final curtain call

The theatre group's last show will be Shakespeare's 'The Tempest' in May. BAD Improv will perform a final time in June.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Be Theatre announced Wednesday on social media that 2024 will be its last season.

A message to "Be Supporters" said the final curtain will fall in May with Shakespeare's "The Tempest." BAD Improv will have a final performance in June.

"We are grateful for the past 13 years of support from the community, friends, family, and donors who have championed our mission."

The organization asks for patience and respect as it works to finalize details and are able to give more information about the decision.

"The creative spirit of those who've built this theatre and its community will continue to shine bright, but the Be Theatre lights will go down, leaving a legacy of joy and excellence."

Be Theatre leases its space from the San Angelo Performing Arts Center, a separate organization, that will remain open.
