SAN ANGELO, Texas — NAMI and the San Angelo Clubhouse will host the fifth annual Community Rally for Mental Health at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on the Tom Green County Courthouse lawn, 112 W. Beauregard Ave.

Local speakers at the rally will share their stories of struggles and resources to help others who are struggling with mental health.

A release about the event said, "This year will be even more special, as we honor mental health advocate Laura Lewis posthumously with the inaugural Laura Lewis Champion of Mental Health Award. We plan to make this an annual award, honoring people in our community who are strong advocates for mental health. This award was created to honor Laura Lewis and her passion for mental health."

Guest speaker NAMI Texas exective director Greg Hensch will speak about mental health outcomes from the last legislative session and Lewis’ advocacy.

Green pinwheels will be placed in the grass at the end of the event to honor mental health awareness.
