Two sent to hospital by ambulance after crash at 23rd, Bryant intersection

One of the vehicles hit a traffic light at the intersection, causing it to malfunction. City crews were on site repairing the signal.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — A collision at North Bryant Boulevard and West 23rd Street Wednesday morning caused a traffic signal malfunction and sent two people to the hospital.

According to the San Angelo Police Department, a passenger car was headed west on West 23rd and a pickup truck was headed south on North Bryant. The driver of the pickup truck had a red light and disregarded it, the officer on scene said.

The truck struck a traffic signal, causing a malfunction. City of San Angelo crews were on scene working to fix the signal.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The driver of the pickup truck received a citation for disregarding the red light.
