Four-vehicle crash slows traffic at busy San Angelo intersection

The SAPD did not give a statement at the scene of the crash Thursday.

UPDATE (11:58 a.m. May 31): The San Angelo Police Department released details about Thursday's crash involving four vehicles. 

According to the motors division, the driver of a white Ford Explorer traveling west in the 3900 block of South Chadbourne Street turned south onto Christoval Road in front of a black Toyota 4Runner traveling east. 

The driver of the Explorer failed to yield right-of-way turning and collided with the Toyota.

A black Chevrolet Tahoe was stopped at the light in the 3600 block of Christoval Road and a black Dodge Challenger turning right onto South Chadbourne Street that stopped at the yield sign.

After the initial collision, the Explorer then collided with the front end of the Tahoe. The Toyota collided with the Challenger's driver's side door.

The driver of the Challenger was taken to Shannon Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. All other drivers were seen by medics and released at the scene.

The driver of the Explorer was issued a citation for failure to yield the right-of-way, turning left.

ORIGINAL STORY: A four-car collision at the South Chadbourne Street/Christoval Road intersection Thursday afternoon slowed traffic in the area.
