Free meals this summer for San Angelo-area children under 18

SAN ANGELO, Texas — School is officially out for the summer, but children still need to eat so they can grow and thrive.

The San Angelo Independent School District’s Summer Meal Program is offering free breakfast and lunch for children under 18 throughout the summer. All children have to do is show up at a participating meal site starting Monday, June 3.

To participate, show up at a program site during the scheduled times, the program is open to all children and there is no paperwork to complete. Meals are provided on a first come, first served basis.

A complete list of serving sites, dates, and times for the Summer Meals Program is below. Dates and times vary by location. All locations are walk-in service only.

Free summer meals sites

Bradford Elementary – 2302 Bradford St.

  • Dates: June 3-June 28 (Monday-Friday) 
  • Breakfast: 7:45-8:15 a.m.
  • Lunch: 11:15 a.m.-noon

Crockett Elementary – 2104 Johnson St.

  • Dates: June 3-June 28 (Monday-Friday) 
  • Breakfast: 7:45-8:30 a.m.
  • Lunch: 11:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Glenn Middle School – 2201 University Ave.

  • Dates: June 10-June 27 and July 8-July 25(Monday-Thursday) 
  • Breakfast: 8-9 a.m. 
  • Lunch: 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.

Southside Boys & Girls Club – 2762 Ben Ficklin Road

  • Dates: June 3-July 2 (Monday-Friday) and July 8-July 25(Monday-Thursday) No service - June 19
  • Breakfast: 7:45- 8:30 a.m.
  • Lunch: 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Funding for the summer feeding program comes from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Texas Department of Agriculture. This will be the 31st year San Angelo ISD has participated in offering summer meals.
