SAN ANGELO, Texas — A man walking on North Bell Street Friday evening was hit by a car, that San Angelo Police say drove away from the scene without the driver stopping to check on him.

Now, the SAPD's Traffic Division is investigating the case and looking for the driver of the 2004-2008 Toyota Camry that is either silver or grey with damage to its front passenger side quarter panel and missing its passenger side mirror.

A release from the SAPD said officers responded to a call in the 500 block of North Bell Street Friday and found an injured 41-year-old man in the road. He was taken to Shannon Medical Center for treatment of broken bones and other non-life-threatening injuries.

The department is asking the public for any information that would help identify the hit-and-run suspect. Anyone with information should call the SAPD's non-emergency dispatch line at 325-657-4315 and reference Case No. 2023-0400750.
