San Angelo Police looking for man who assaulted woman, then ran

Police were in the area of Amistad Road off Robin Hood Trail after noon looking for Hector Lopez, who they say assaulted a woman at Zip Car Wash, then ran away.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — The San Angelo Police Department is looking for a man they say assaulted a woman, then ran away from the scene.

SAPD Public Information Officer Richard Espinoza said officers were called to the Zips Car Wash in the 4100 block of Sherwood Way for a domestic disturbance. When they arrived at the scene, a woman told them she had been assaulted by 39-year-old Hector Lopez.

When officers approached Lopez ran into the area of Amistad Road and Robin Hood Trail. Officers tried to quickly set up a perimeter in the neighborhood.

The SAPD's Drone Team and K9 Unit were called to help in the search, which was unsuccessful.

Lopez was last seen wearing a dark-colored hoodie and pants, but he may have taken the hoodie off, Espinoza said.

Espinoza said any resident in the area who sees a suspicious person in the area should call the SAPD.
