SAN ANGELO, Texas — San Angelo's Police Chief Travis Griffith and his wife, Vanessa, in the roles of Santa and Mrs. Claus, will arrive by train for this year's Santa's Santa Fe Christmas at the Railway Museum of San Angelo.
The event is planned from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at the museum, 703 S. Chadbourne St.
Festivities at the Christmas event will include:
- A free photo with Santa and the Grinch
- The inaugural Art on Track exhibit featuring local artists' renditions of railway themes
- Live music and performances by the Central High School TexAnns, Prep Academy and more
- Food trucks
- A Christmas marketplace with local crafts
- Train rides for $5 per child
- Pet portraits with Santa
- Tours of the museum's static train displays: Visit the engine and caboose for $5
- Tours of the museum available for regular admission fees
An Art on Track exhibit will run for the first time at the museum from Nov. 23-Dec. 22. The exhibit showcases art work focusing on the Railway Depot and trains. Artists who are interested in participating can drop off their paintings, drawings, photographs or other art forms through Nov. 10.
