SAN ANGELO, Texas — San Angelo residents on the north side of the city may see an increased presence of emergency response vehicles and personnel at the San Angelo Fairgrounds Tuesday, but the City says there's no need for concern - it's only a drill.

There's also no need to head out there - it's not open to the public.

The City of San Angelo and Tom Green County Office of Emergency Management will be working with the 6th (TX) Civil Support Team on a joint incident response exercise at the fairgrounds with local, state and federal emergency response personnel.

The major activities for the one-day exercise are intentionally planned to be conducted away from heavily-populated areas in the interest of safety, but some aspects may be noticed within the city.

"This is only a drill, there is no emergency, and no need for alarm," the City said in a media release.

For the safety of the public and emergency response personnel, residents are advised to refrain from entering the San Angelo Fairgrounds during the exercise event scheduled to take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday.
