SAN ANGELO, Texas — The City of San Angelo says its water meter replacement program is underway where contractors, Core & Main, will be replacing water meters across the city.

Core & Main employees are easily identifiable by their neon green work shirts, the City said.

Residents don’t need to do anything - just be aware the work is happening throughout San Angelo. Every City of San Angelo water customer will eventually have their meter replaced.

The entire project is expected to be completed by September 2027.

The old water meter infrastructure has been in place for more than 10 years and needs to be upgraded with new meters to ensure continued accuracy and performance over the life of the meter.

City water customers can expect water meter replacement to take less than 30 minutes. Contractors will test an outside faucet to ensure water is on and functioning and check water pressure at each address.

Customers should contact the City's Water Customer Service office at 325-657-4323 if they experience any issues.

Please note only City employees or Core & Main contractors should turn the water meter on or off. Do not move or shift the meter boxes.

For questions or more information, contact the Water Customer Service office at 325-657-4323.
