ASU's Wind Ensemble to host concert before embarking on performance, recruiting tour

The three-day tour includes stops at high schools in the Wichita Falls area.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Angelo State University's Wind Ensemble will host its final concert of the fall season at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, in the San Angelo Performing Arts Center's Brooks & Bates Theatre, 82 Gillis St.

The concert is free, open to the public and includes:

  • "Ignition" by Todd Stalter
  • "Equus" by Eric Whitacre
  • "Amazing Grace" arranged by Frank Ticheli
  • "Rail Riffs" by Brian Balmages
  • "Quartets" by Roger Cichy
  • "Tico Tico" by Zequinha Abreu
  • "Funiculi, Funicula" arranged by Yo Goto

The ASU Wind Ensemble features more than 50 student musicians performing on various woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. 

On Monday, Nov. 18, the wind ensemble will embark on a three-day performance and recruiting tour that includes stops at various high schools in the Wichita Falls area.
